Review Work
A substantial part of my policy practice has involved reviewing existing policy, economic and institutional settings: understanding how they work in practice, where their assumptions or structures are coming under strain, and what different approaches might make possible.
This has included work on climate and energy policy for the Climate Change Commission, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; infrastructure and geothermal strategy; energy hardship and predatory debt; housing and houselessness; biosecurity; and social investment. I have also worked with Ngāi Tūhoe on political devolution and Māori economic and social investment frameworks, and produced evidence on the racial impacts of mixed-tenure housing policy for proceedings before the New Zealand Human Rights Commission.
